Class Description
You know how to thread your machine. You understand seam allowance. You’ve sewn a few things and you’re ready for the next step — but every time you unfold a commercial sewing pattern, it feels like you’re staring at a foreign language.
That’s exactly what this class is for.
In this beginner garment sewing class, you’ll learn how to use a commercial sewing pattern from start to finish — not just the sewing, but everything that happens before you even sit down at your machine. We’ll work through [PATTERN NAME], a beginner-friendly garment perfect for building real skills without the overwhelm. By the end of the day, you’ll go home with a finished garment and a process you can repeat every time you sew from a pattern.
What You’ll Learn
- How to read and decode commercial pattern instructions, layout diagrams, and symbols
- How to identify your size, understand ease, and select the right pattern pieces
- How to prep and cut your paper pattern pieces
- How to lay out fabric correctly using grain line, fold, and nap
- How to cut fabric cleanly and accurately
- How to construct and finish [PATTERN NAME] from start to finish
Who This Class Is For

If you know how to thread your machine, understand seam allowance, and have done some basic sewing but feel intimidated by pattern instructions, this class is your bridge from beginner projects to real garment construction.
You do not need to have made clothing before. You just need to be ready to learn.
